Oregon law requires a person convicted of certain crimes to register as a sex offender. All hope is not lost when ordered to register as a sex offender. Oregon law does allow a person convicted of a sex crime to get relief from registering as a sex offender. This law, however, was repealed January 1, and will be replaced by new requirements and procedures.
